Who's in…

Here’s the lowdown on some of the great social businesses based in the Devonport Guildhall right now…

CoastNet

CoastNet is a not-for profit network that brings together marine, education, youth and community professionals, institutions and community members who care about coastal living. CoastNet has recently started running a range of projects with the Devonport community, including Sea Devonport, Devonport Rocks and Tides of Change. Between them these projects introduce or re-introduce the coast to residents, young and old, through coastal trips, activities and talks, ‘CoastClub’ after-school clubs, film-making and photography, and oral history interviewing.  www.coastnet.org.uk/

Chew TV

Chew TV is a pioneering Web TV network run by and for young people aged 14-25. Chew TV gives a voice to young people; providing a global showcase and a space to connect and share ideas, while allowing anyone to watch short films online made by the next generation of media talent. Down in the basement of the Guildhall, Chew TV’s team are hard at work uploading content, taking on new commissions, fielding enquiries and ‘tweeting’ loudly. Catch up with them on www.chewtv.com

Zebra Collective

One of the first social enterprises to get the Social Enterprise Mark, Zebra Collective is a works’ co-operative which runs courses around equality and diversity, conflict resolution and community engagement for public services and community groups. Zebra Collective has been working with the people and businesses of Devonport since 2003 and is looking forward to being right at the heart of the community in the Guildhall. www.zebra-collective.org.uk

Voice of Devonport

Voice of Devonport is a community-based group which meets every month to address and support issues that benefit and bring together the people of Devonport. Voice of Devonport has played an important role in much of the regeneration in the community including getting the Devonport Column open for public use again, an exciting development which we will keep you posted on. www.voiceofdevonport.org.uk
